The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has expanded its mission – eradicating veteran homelessness. The Veterans Village in Houston, Texas was recently opened to serve as a beacon of hope for over 150 veterans who were once homeless.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001.
We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.

Stephen Siller’s Story
On September 11, 2001, Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers when he got word over his scanner of a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Stephen drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, but it had already been closed for security purposes. Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back, and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he gave up his life while saving others.

BUILDING HOMES
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation builds mortgage-free smart homes for our most catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Each home is designed to address the unique needs of each individual.
SEASON OF HOPE
Through the Season of Hope, the Foundation will be providing 36 Gold Star families and families of fallen first responders and catastrophically-injured veterans with mortgage-free homes through the end of the year.
DEFENDING FREEDOM
The needs of catastrophically injured service members and first responders are unique. A smart home from our Smart Home Program is designed and constructed to meet the specific needs of its recipients. These homes enable our most severely injured heroes to live more independent lives.
CHRISTINA GARDNER
SGT Gardner was catastrophically injured during peacekeeping operations on June 22, 2006. She lost both legs below the knees, incurred a lumbar spinal cord injury and skull fractures resulting in a traumatic brain injury, and lost two fingers on her left hand.
